They play 75-80 shows a year at venues throughout southwest Colorado and northern New Mexico, and are often joined at the larger venues by guest musicians to play as a trio or full band. Their sound blends Nina’s velvety smooth vocals and acoustic rhythm guitar with Larry’s melodic and passionate electric lead guitar work, and covers a wide range of rock, blues and jazz.

A local band to San Juan County, High Desert Fusion consists of Steven Sprague And Charles Stacey. Steve Sprague cut his musical teeth playing and writing rock and roll, blues and psychedelic in his native Upstate New York beginning in 1964, and Charles Stacey began his performing career in 1959 as a guitarist at age 10 at a PTA fundraiser.   Steve and Charlie met at the open mic at Andrea Kristina’s in Farmington and took turns sitting in at each other’s gigs. Steve co-produced/arranged and played on the last 3 Gypsyfire CD projects.  That was when they decided it was time to bring all the musical influences together officially.  They combined their catalogues of 200 plus originals plus 50 years of cover tunes and formed High Desert Fusion.
